About IBD LitMonitor

What is IBD LitMonitor?

IBD LitMonitor provides comprehensive daily coverage of IBD literature, organized by sub-fields so you can quickly find what’s relevant to your work.

Why Not Just Use PubMed Alerts?

PubMed alerts are a reasonable starting point, but they have a key limitation: they give you a flat, unsorted list. If you set up an alert for “inflammatory bowel disease,” every matching paper arrives in the same inbox pile - therapeutics next to epidemiology next to basic science - and you still have to read through everything to find what’s relevant to your work.

IBD LitMonitor takes a different approach. Instead of delivering a raw feed, it organizes papers into sub-fields so you can go straight to the domain you care about and skip the rest. Each category is collapsible, so browsing the day’s literature takes minutes rather than a lengthy inbox triage.

How It Works

Daily process:

  1. Search PubMed across category-specific query groups
  2. Deduplicate results by PMID
  3. Categorize into sub-fields using keyword scoring
  4. Sort by publication date (newest first within each category)
  5. Publish updated website, RSS feed, and per-category RSS feeds
